Course Description: This course is designed for operators, production staff, maintenance technicians, skilled trades, engineers or supervisors who need to learn the basics of the Fanuc R30i robotics system. The course contains a minimum of 50% hands-on time with an applicable robotics system.
Objectives:
At the successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  • Locate, identify and operate the robot control panel and teach pendant buttons
  • Safely move the robot with the teach pendant to prepare for automatic operation
  • Select programs for automatic operation
  • Access and load programs
  • Cycle robot through various positions
  • Home and restart the robot
  • Manually operate inputs and outputs
  • Restart the robot due to operational errors and restart robot in automatic (production) mode

  • Safety when operating and working with robots
  • Overview and identification of major components including the control panel, teach pendant and specific R30i system components
  • Identify and correct operational errors using error message screens
  • Explore methods of moving the robot
  • Create and edit a program
  • Explore teach positions
  • Step through robot program
  • Move robot to specific position
  • Principles of I/O communications
  • Manipulation of specific input and output components
  • Explore common causes for operational errors and stops and learn recovery methods
